Hospital Rebuild - Torbay Liberal Democrats

Torbay Hospital is crumbling. Our Hospital is serving a frail elderly population from a frail and elderly estate. Since being elected I have been demanding for investment to rebuild the Hospital, and since February, I have been calling for funding to preserve the failing main Tower Block. While I am grateful the Hospital has received £1.8 million so far, I warned the government at the time that this would not be enough. Now the Hospital has been served notices by both the fire service and the Care Quality Commission concerning the Tower Block.

I am continuing to demand the £8 million of funding needed to secure the Tower Block, and for the rebuild of Torbay Hospital under the New Hospitals Programme to be brought forward.
