Annual Dinner with Norman Lamb, Round up and Video
On Friday 29th April, Torbay Liberal Democrats held their annual dinner at The Paignton Club; an excellent venue for such an occasion with magnificent sea views. The event was very well attended by party members, activists, supporters and councillors and the guest speaker was Rt. Hon. Norman Lamb, MP.

On the 29th April, Torbay Liberal Democrats will be holding their annual dinner, where our guest speaker will be Norman Lamb, MP.
In Government, Norman worked to reform our broken care system; led the drive to join-up our health and care system and challenged the NHS to give mental health the same priority as physical health.
Last year Norman stood for leadership of the Lib Dems. Norman is currently the party's spokesperson for Health and set up the review on the regulation of currently illegal drugs which, following the recent vote at spring conference, led to the Lib Dems becoming the first major party to support the legalisation of cannabis with a regulated market.

Torbay Liberal Democrats are looking for an enthusiastic member or supporter, under the age of 26, to join the local party executive committee as the Liberal Youth Officer.

The AGM is an opportunity for members to question the Liberal Democrat Councillors on Torbay Council and the current officers of the local party.
The meeting will include the election of officers and the executive of the Torbay party for 2016
St Martin’s Hall is on a regular bus route, the hall has a large car park and the building is easily assessable.

Statement from Cllr Steve Darling, Group Leader of Torbay Liberal Democrats on the passing of Ruth Pentney, Liberal Democrat activist and Torbay Councillor.
Ruth was elected to Torbay Council in 2003 to the Clifton with Maidenway ward. Before this she agented for dozens of successful Liberal and Liberal Democrat Councillors for decades. She also Agented for Adrian Sanders in all but the last of his General Election campaigns. Ruth was presented with the Liberal Democrat Party President’s award for life long outstanding commitment and service at the Parties Conference in September 2014.
