Liberal Democrats on Torbay Council are set to challenge the poor management of Torbay’s highways. Paignton councillor Ian Doggett is set to quiz the Tory Council at the Full Council meeting on the 3rd of February about poor maintenance of parking restrictions across the bay.
Cllr Doggett said, “Over recent weeks it has become apparent that there are dozens of roads across the bay where, because of an apparent dispute between the Council and their contractor TOR2, double yellow lines and other parking restrictions are not being maintained, resulting in them becoming unenforceable.”
Cllr Doggett, the transport spokesman for the Liberal Democrats on Torbay Council, went on to say, “ The vast majority of these parking restrictions are there to keep people safe. If irresponsible motorists are now able to ignore them it will only put pedestrians and other drivers in harm’s way.”
The question is as follows:
Can you please advise on how many roads in Torbay have parking restrictions that are unenforceable due to poor maintenance or damage? What plans are there to bring these parking restrictions up to standard?
